JOHANNESBURG – Bed and Breakfast lodges and coach operators can now start applying for a one-off grant from the Department of Tourism.
Tourism Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane announced on Tuesday the COVID-19 relief fund open for applications from small to medium businesses affected by the pandemic.
They are eligible if their tourism-related business is impacted by a major slump in visitors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
R200-million is available, and grants have been capped at R50,000 per business.
Applications for relief opened on Tuesday and close at the end of May.
The grants will only be open to small and medium enterprises, which the minister described as ‘survivalists in nature’.
