On Wednesday 19 August 2020, Diepsloot police arrested a 27-year-old woman for allegedly assaulting six children, between the ages of 6 and 12, with an electric wire.

It is alleged that the suspect assaulted the kids after they had played with her laundry detergent. The suspect allegedly locked the kids in a room; instructed them to undress and whipped them with an electric wire. The victims sustained injuries and had whip scars on their bodies.

The police would like to commend parents of the victims for not taking the law into their own hands. All cases of child abuse must be reported to the police. The police condemn the actions of this suspect in the strongest possible terms.

The suspect has been charged with assault GBH and sexual assault and will appear in the Randburg magistrates court this morning.
