MMC for Housing in the City of Joburg Cllr Mlungisi Mabaso, will on Thursday handover 50 title deeds to housing project beneficiaries in Riverside.

The City has built more than 4000 multi-storey RDP units in various extensions of Riverside View since 2011.

MMC Mabaso considers title deeds to be legal documents that prove legal ownership of property under South African law and thus, has opted to continue to hand them over in phases to ensure that our residents are given dignity.

“As the government of local unity, we are determined to provide our residents with home ownership through various means and rapidly through the issuing of title deeds. We have started issuing them robustly and we will continue to dignify our residents in all seven regions of this City,” says the MMC.

In line with Covid-19 regulations under Level 1, no more than 250 people will be allowed inside the venue. We urge residents to strictly comply with the World Health Organisation health protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.
