On Monday afternoon, 22 June 2020 at about 15:15, members were conducting routine patrols when they received a complaint of three children who were found dead in a room in Diepsloot Ext 02. On arrival on the scene, members found three lifeless bodies of children aged thirteen (13), ten (10) and eleven (11) months lying on the floor. Two of the deceased children were found wearing church uniform.
Parents of the three deceased children, aged 47 and 36 along with their 17-year-old son, were rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
A two-plate gas stove and a pot filled with water and coarse salt were allegedly found in the room where the deceased children were found. The cause of their deaths is unknown at this stage. An inquest is being investigated by Diepsloot police.
