A heatwave will hit Gauteng from Tuesday with temperatures expected to remain in the mid-30s until Friday.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says heatwave conditions are expected to persist throughout the week.
“Today (Monday), Pretoria is expecting a maximum temperature of 33, Johannesburg and Vereeniging are expected to be at 31 degrees.”
“Today is just hot conditions for our area and they are hitting the threshold of heatwave only tomorrow,” says forecaster Lulama Peme.
Meanwhile, the Free State, Northern Cape and the North West Province have already been hit by the heatwave.
