JOHANNESBURG – The Gauteng Health Department is asking for donations of personal protective equipment and ventilators.
Gauteng has 693 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
“The Gauteng Department of Health calls for donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ventilators. The fight against COVID-19 requires a joint effort by all sectors of society. This includes the increasing of the resource capacity of the Gauteng health system across the board with regards to its COVID-19 response,” the department said.
Gauteng Health MEC, Bandile Masuku said the province aims to get stock/equipment that will last at least 6 months.
Gauteng province has three COVID-19 designated hospitals, Charlotte Maxeke Academic, Steve Biko Academic and Tembisa Tertiary.
