JOHANNESBURG – The EFF has dared Clicks to open its stores for trading and face physical consequences.
This comes after the retailer posted an advert that classified black women’s hair as dry and damaged while white women’s hair was labelled as normal and fine.
EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu says all Clicks stores should be closed until they acceed to the party’s demands.
“If they want physical confrontation we dare them to open this place,” Shivambu said outside a Clicks store at the Sandton City shopping centre.
“We said they must close all the stores or we close them ourselves.”
The EFF has warned Clicks that it will suffer the same fate as H&M.
In 2018, the EFF trashed H&M stores in protest against a racist sweater ad.
“We always act decisively, that is what we do, they are actually very lucky that we had a planned protest which we announced before we came,” Shivambu said.
“They should ask what happened to H&M when we took action against them for racism, they were a lot of consequences.”
Shivambu says the party won’t allow racism.
