Operating in Zandspruit informal settlement, A-Hardware is set to run more projects which will benefit the community. The shop is willing to engage with the community in assisting them with positive projects in the township and its surrounding areas. “We want to bring positive change to the community, People tend to neglect communities like Zandspruit, but we want to do our best to assist especially the young ones and the elderly,” said Motswala Ikke, the owner. In March, the hardware donated much-needed soccer uniforms to Young Tigers FC and the motivation behind the donation was to build a great relationship with the kids as well as the community members. “We strive to work with other communities as well and we want to bring influence in sport, entertainment and education. We are not afraid to put more investment in this community. We want to support Tigers FC and all sporting activities and this is the beginning of a long term relationship with them. On top of the uniform, we also donated a small trophy to boost their confidence as they go to play in the league,” Motswala alluded. Young Tigers FC is expected to begin their season under Mogale City League soon. Yandisa Phungu, the co-founder of the team said that he is very happy to be considered for the donation. “We have been expecting such kind of a donation since last year and we are very excited now that we have been considered and this will help us as we go to participate in the league for the first time. We want to maintain a good relationship with A-Hardware.” He added that sports can be always used as a tool to reduce crime in the informal settlement and that he would like to urge the parents to allow their children to participate in sports activities.
