Diepsloot:#OperationLokisa checks in on service delivery gaps

Operation Lokisa is said to have been put in place to make sure that the chairpersons of section 79 committees go to the various sites to assess the challenges of service delivery themselves.

On the 19 of March, the City of Joburg councillor Alex Christians together with the chairpersons of section 79 Committee visited the Tllabologo Opportunity Centre and the Lord Khanyile Community Hall in Diepsloot to check the service delivery gaps.

Operation Lokisa is meant to also help chairpersons of Section 79 committees to compare the reports submitted by departments with the actual work that is being done.

“Operation Lokisa aims to ensure that the issues raised by communities are addressed by responsible department or entities. #OperationLokisa strives to ensure that service delivery protests in communities are the last resort,” said the City of Joburg in a series of tweets.

The City of Joburg also stated that the legislature’s mission is to create an accountable, democratic City Legislature that champions people’s aspirations.
