JOHANNESBURG – The DA wants Small Business Development Minister, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni to publish the criteria used for the SMMEs relief fund without delay.

The High Court has dismissed party’s application to stop the minister from using BBBEE status, race, gender, age and disability when considering who gets COVID-19 aid.

However, the court also ruled that the criteria used is unlawful and vague and instructed the minister to redraft them.

The DA says it won’t allow ministers to think they can “rule by decree” without meeting the necessary thresholds for constitutional governance.
