Hatch, Palesa Pads shine rays of hope on Alex girls.
Underprivileged girls supported by NPO Rays of Hope in Marlboro Gardens received sanitary pads from engineering and consultancy company, Hatch.
The donation was from a staff fundraising drive which supplied 35 beautiful girls from Alexandra with the reusable pads. In a statement, the company said the initiative coordinated by Maché van Aswegen gave them the pads and panties.
The occasion also included an educational talk on female biology and menstrual health by the pads supplier’s founder Sherie de Wet. It was interspersed with entertainment of Palesa Pads’ song-and-dance routines, a demonstration by Omphemetse Plaatjies of the supplier and an inspiring motivational talk on self-worth and education by Aswegwen.
The girls expressed their gratitude on the donation through a song dedicated to the sponsors and supplier.
