A team of psychologists and social workers from the North West Education Department will on Monday morning visit schools affected by this weekend’s horror crash outside Zeerust.
Seven learners from three schools in Rietpan and Driefontein were killed and 24 others injured when the driver of the truck they were travelling in lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.
The learners were on their way to a soccer match. Spokesperson for Education Department, Elias Malindi says:
“We were in a meeting with traditional leaders, local municipality and department officials. We are going to offer counselling at all affected schools, and that counselling to all affected families.”
